When it comes to finding an office for a business the choice can always seem a little overwhelming, it needs to be accessible to clients and employees but also not require hours sitting in traffic everyday trying to get there. So when we stumbled across Filwood Green Business Park we were excited that it not only allowed for traffic free work journeys but also provided us with an innovative, well designed green office to boot. It’s impressive in its appearance outside and in and has more than just its looks to boast about. With green credentials seeping from every pore, from its green roof to its electric vehicle charging points and photovoltaic panels, its easy to see how the design is helping to achieve a 40% CO2 reduction.
The building itself has been recognised as a ‘Champion’ by 2degrees network for pushing boundaries in sustainability. What is particularly great is that the vision for this ‘green’ business park came from local residents through the 20 year Knowle west regeneration framework.
So as the sun pours through the open windows and across the green roof, there’s a little more to be glad about than just having a new office ‘cos this Blue Sparrow has a new, green nest to call home! Perhaps I’ll be the proud owner of an electric car soon too?!
